Our City of Bengaluru is rich in religious and spiritual cultures, this can be seen in the numerous religious places echoing Kannada art, culture and tradition. Bangalore is also the home of many of India’s spiritual gurus. On this trail we venture into some of the oldest temples in the city that go back to the 9th Century and beyond. Explore with us an experience filled with stories of magic, Gods, mighty kings and the allure of kingdoms and dynasties.
Bangalore or Bengaluru as we call it now hosted the Chola Dynasty in the 10-century, delighted in marvelous architecture of the Vijayanagara style, reveled in the mystery of astronomical significance, monolith rock cut art, fascinating stories of dreams inspiring temples, of magic, of mystery, of Gods who turned to stones and rogue bulls. Well, this is just a few of this rich heritage we bring to you of our city.
This trail introduces you to “Bendakaalooru” our city of Boiled Beans before it became Bangalore and now Bengaluru, come relive the city’s history while you feast on scrumptious breakfast in old quaint joints that have been legendary and significant to the city of Bangalore. This expedition is for anyone with a keen interest in History and wishes to learn about the origins of “Benda kaluru” or Bengaluru’s southern quarters and tis varying flavours and traditionally Kannada community.
Physically this is NOT an INTENSIVE Trail making it doable. Anyone who wishes to get back on the cycle with a group of like-minded people and have fun can sign up.

7:00 – 7:30 A.M : Meet and greet at Lalbagh Botanical Garden with a brief on your trial and bike fit. Parking will be available at the premises
7:30 – 8:30 A.M : Ride to MTR for Breakfast, hear stories of the makings of “Rava Idli”
8:30 – 9:00 A.M : Visit the V.V Puram temple at the start of Food Street
9:00 – 9:30 A.M : Ride to the Ragi Gudda Temple and learn of the Gods that turned to rocks, also hear of stories of Kempe Gowda and his chieftaincy
9:30 – 10:30 A.M : Ride to the Bull Temple and the Bugle Rock park that holds the oldest peninsular gneiss rock in the country
10:30 – 11:30 A.M : We will ride to the 9th Century cave temple explore Cholan architecture and understand the way of predicting the summer and winter solstice in accordance to Hindu calendar
1:00 P.M : Ride back to Lalbagh Botanical garden and end of tour
Apart from our scheduled departures, our city trails can be customized to suit your convenience and choose private pick up option; a local English-speaking guide will ride with you informing and guiding you through the journey.
