Our “Yercaud Weekend Getaway” trail is crafted to appease the traveler and the nature lover in you, allowing you to meet an interesting bunch of fellow cyclists and travel with them, discover the quaint hill station of Yercaud.
”Yericaud” Tamil for Lake-forest is a delightful aberration lined with quaint villages, paddy fields, coffee and pepper plantations, succulent orange trees on pathways proving an enchanting trail for cyclists who appreciate that sense of serenity.

This trail is recommended for and active cyclists who is familiar with climbing hills on a cycle while the distance is short the intensity of the climb is moderately high. To ensure a group of cyclist who can all keep up the pace and climb comfortably, we expect you to have practiced some amount of climbing hills etc. As ever, you can rely on the Unventured support team to motivate & cycle along with you to make it to the top!

The expedition has about 32 kms of cycling on day 1 of which approximately 21 kms will be uphill climbs and about 15Km climb of the 40Km of cycling on day 2. The trail goes through a 30 curves to reach the top of Yercaud from Salem and on Day 2 it will be pleasant rolling trails riding through very less traffic roads that lead to small hamlets atop Yercaud and trail through coffee plantations filled with shade and pleasant views of the mountains that surround the region.
Reach early morning in Salem and refresh at a hotel. Post chasing up to riding closes, go through a briefing session with the tour leader while feasting on some hot pongal and idli’s. Once done we’ll start the ride from Salem town and make our way up to Yercaud
We’ll have some lunch enroute along with a lot of breaks, refreshing ourselves with fresh fruits and some snack.
At Yercaud we’ll check into our hotel and freshen-up. Late evening we’ll head out to grab some dinner and once back to the resort we’ll sit it out by the bonfire reliving the day’s ride and catching up on banter with newly made friend sand like minded travellers
Accommodation Type: 3 Star Resort
We begin with some fresh South-Indian breakfast at Sarvana Bhavan, Yercaud. Post a sumptuous breakfast we take the loop road ride around Yercaud town through villages and coffee plantations. We’ll have some nick backs for the road and then ride back to Sarvana Bhavan for some sumptuous lunch. Post lunch we will ride downhill to Salem and then drive back towards Bangalore, dinner en route. Late night arrival in Bangalore.
Your tour will be supported by a well trained mechanic, and a full repair kit with essential spares. However, we strongly encourage participants to carry their basic bike maintenance kit along. We will also be carrying a back-up cycle along the expedition; just so that nobody misses out on the riding experience should their bike have a serious breakdown.
A full sized first aid kit including oxygen canisters will be carried during the trip. Our tour leaders have appropriate wilderness first-aid training and are experienced in dealing with a range of medical problems associated with adventure travel. We also recommend that you bring your own personal medication, sunscreen and multi-vitamin tablets
We are obsessed with the safety of our guests and as an adventure expedition the risk of injuries is higher than most other travel journeys. We follow a strict guideline in controlling and managing the pace of the group and discipline. We are well versed with the challenges faced bt travelers on this stretch and also have in-depth information on possible places to reach out to for medical aid in the event of an emergency. You will be instructed each day on the trail, what to expect, do’s and don’ts so you do not put your lives at risk and affect the fellow travellers’ tour experience. Although we indemnify ourselves and our staff from the legalities of any life threatening events through a “Declaration” document.
