Celebrate the emotion ‘Mysuru Dasara’, when the city lights up to celebrate through the 10 days of festivities symbolosing the hindu legend of “victory over evil”. Carnival like and cheery in every corner of the city the locals celebrate the victory of good over evil and the local legend of “Godess Chamundeshwari’s victory over Mahishasura the deamon”. The city comes alive with bustling bazaars, wrestling matches, perfomances, royal celebrations and every home in Mysuru lit up with arrangements of “Gombe” (Dolls) in their courtyards and living rooms.
The Mysore Dasara Special Tour, takes us on a journey through time of stories and legends of God’s and Goddesses passed on as stories from generation to generation. This walk is filled with the emotion of Dasara with grand processions, market walks, insights into local cultures and traditions visits to a local home to learn more about the tradition of “Gombe Habba” (A festival of dolls) and even visit the home of a famed wrestling guru and maybe, just maybe learn a trick or two of wresteling. Each of our activites and experiences are carefully detailed and arranged articulating a story of the land. We will end our Mysore Dasara Walking Tour with a grand ending in front of the dazzling 98,000 lights that light up the beautiful Amba Vilas Palace. Also, take home your own unique souvenir in the spirit of Mahisha’s Ooru as a free giveaway, after all we are celebrating our city with you.

Who can do this tour?
If you are an experience seeking traveler looking for a slice of India in the way of grand celebrations, diversity, a keen interest in the local way of life, authentic experiences then this 3 hour walk covering close to 4 KMs is exactly what you are looking for.
Physically this is NOT as intensive a walk but there will be crowded sections that we will be crossing through. There is NO wheel chair access and we would not suggest it for children younger than 5 or in baby strollers.
This is a special tour celebrating the Mysuru Dasara and will run through 29th September to 12th October.
