Tour Overview

“Bengaluru in Nutshell” Walking Tour

Benda-kaal-ooru (village of boiled beans) or Bengaluru as it is famously known, has undergone many transformations to become the city that it is today. From a “Pensioner’s Paradise” to the “Garden City” and in the last 2 decades, transforming as the largest “Silicon Valley” and the “Start-up Hub” of this part of the world. Bangalore holds onto its old world charm with grace, just as much as its modernity. From the sprawling high streets, quaint back alleys, black magic, bustling shopping centres, ride from place to place on the suburban transport, enjoy tasty local food, old temples and to the quiet cafe’s; the Bengaluru in a Nutshell tour is a contrast of the old and the new of Bengaluru.

At the heart of this city are contrasting layers of the old and the new. On this Unventured tour there is something for everyone to take to; from local interactions, history, culture, stories, and loads of fun.

Here’s what you can expect to see on your walk….

  • An iconic 9th Century temple with influences of the largest empire that reigned over the Dravidian region
  • A Hindu cemetery to witness ancient practices of black magic
  • The state library that stands in Pompeian red with books in every Indian language, a walk inside will delight any inquisitive book lover
  • Learn about architectural influences from the North, East, South, and West of the country. The British built “Attara Kacheri” that dates back to 1868 and is built in the Greco-Roman style
  • A scrumptious brunch at a cafe which calls itself an establishment, founded in the early 40’s brings an old world charm and dishes out some fantastic local delicacies.

Who can do this tour?

  • This tour is for anyone with a keen interest in taking a wholesome experience of Bengaluru, a contrast of the old and the new all amalgamated into a half day tour through the markets of the city. Ideal if you are someone who wants to immerse yourself in understanding the “local” way of life.
  • Physically this is not an intensive walk making it doable for anyone who wishes to explore Bangalore through its by lanes.

Excellent value including transportation to different places, food and lots of historical insights. Would highly recommend and only wish could do more.
