Coping with travel in the post COVID 19 world

COVID-19 has brought the momentum of the travel industry to a halt and for small organizations like ourselves it’s a double edged sword, while sustaining maybe at low cost due to the “lean structure” but, the daily revenue hit, the reserves for long term sustenance can be trying. We are however hopeful and we know despite these challenges, history has shown us that travel is one of the world’s most resilient industries — and while we don’t know exactly when travellers will be back in force, we can be certain that they will be back.

We believe the need of the hour is to restore economies built on experience and not extraction. Cut back on spaces hit by over tourism and go beyond the guide books, as a matter fact NOW is the time to go beyond the guide books and promote an experience economy that supports the locals, and preservation of wildlife and sensitizes travelers to learn of new cultures and way of life through experiences, than through run of mill “must do” activities. Slow travel is our favorite means and we are glad to see a grand comeback and we are thrilled to know that travelers are even more keen today to adapt to a sustainable means of travel.

We have adapted 3 different means to Engage, Persevere and Thrive

Our social media is buzzing with #virtualtours. We have covered destinations like Ladakh, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Mysore and Tamilnadu as of now and will go on to add more destinations giving you an insider’s insight to the region. The highlights for our audience has been the weekly webinars and Historical & Cultural insights of the region in form of local legends that is seldom mentioned in books. We’ve even added interesting riding and hiking routes for the active adventure seeking traveller.

Culturally experiential tours

We love the idea of exploring a region and learning of what makes it tick, we have always been avid travellers and we know a traveller’s curiosity to go beyond the guide books and connect with the local way of life. Our first endeavour to curate culturally rich tours began with “God’s own country Kerala” and now we’re adding to this repertoire with Tamilnadu and many more destinations. On any of these tours you can expect to be diving in beyond the cliché and truly appreciate the diversity that India brings to your plate. Culture, cuisine and digging into ancient history has brought out the “Indiana Jones” in us.

The Unventured Family

It’s been 60+ days of NO revenues. For us being on the road and showing our travellers our country is what we wake up to every day. We miss travelling with you just as much as you do. We found this lockdown apt to connect with our past customers who’ve taken on some epic journeys with us and relive those memories with them and not to forget our travel partners in different parts of the country who have been a huge support system and a voice of encouragement and hope.

As a team we have re-aligned ourselves to take on new roles, we’ve realised the perks of bringing together a team that is passionate about travel and are avid travellers themselves, the realignment has been seamless, our enquires team now does a smashing job at keeping our social media page buzzing with fascinating information in the form of #virtualtours and destination insight webinars. Our city tours team is curating amazing itineraries of India and South East Asia, adding experiences from their own travels.

We are humbled from the support we have received from our customers and the team that stands with us, this is a shout out to our extended Unventured Family!
